Hexagonal close-packed structure of magnesium has the lattice parameter of 3.2087Å. The repeat distance, linear density and packing fraction can be calculted suitable formulas and use of atomic radius for the HCP structure, which can be calculated as follows:

  $r=a_0/2$

Here, $a_0$ is edge length.
