Summary Introduction

To determine: The similarities and differences between polysaccharides, proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids.

Introduction: Proteins and nucleic acids can be called informational macromolecules because they are involved in the transfer of genetic information from the nucleus to the cytoplasm for the formation of proteins. Polysaccharides can be considered as storage macromolecules and are composed of long-chains of sugars and their derivatives. Lipids constitute a heterogeneous category of cellular compounds that are hydrophobic in nature.
