Consumer rights and responsibilities are to be explained.
Consumer Rights
1. The right to safety - safety against the goods that are injurious to health and life.
2. The right to be informed - consumer should have information about a product so as to be protected against fraud and to be able to make good choices.
3. The right to choose - markets should be competitive and government to protect the consumer from competition as competition don't always exists.
4. The right to be heard - listen to consumer interests when laws are being written.
5. The right to redress - the ability to cover up any physical or financial damage occurs by their products in the form of money or goods.
Consumer Responsibilities
1. Consumer should register a problem immediately in case of any problem with the product. they do not try to resolve it by themselves because doing so would result in cancelling of warranty.
2. Stating the problem related to product and suggesting the solution like replacement or refund.
3.When reporting a problem related to product, it includes important details like copies of receipts, guarantees and contracts.
4.If any action taken by the consumer to solve the problem need to be explained.
5. Keeping the record of the action the consumer had taken to solve the problem like the persons they have talked to, written to and the dates when all these occur.
6. Give person a reasonable time to fix a problem before contacting another one.
7. If person wants to be in contact with the manufacturer, then the person can directly write a letter or e-mail to that person and also to keep the copy of same.
8. Keep the mind fresh. The person who is helping the consumer might not responsible for the problem the consumer is facing.
