Compare the amount of time that passed between the early diversification of land plants, the origins of tracheophytes, and the origins of leaves.

To compare: The amount of time that passed between the early diversification of land plants, the origins of tracheophytes, and the origins of leaves.
Introduction: Plants are multicellular, predominantly photosynthetic eukaryotes. They belong to the kingdom Plantae. Land plants are also called embryophyta and are the most familiar group of green plants. They form vegetation on the Earth.
Explanation of Solution
The origins of tracheophytes:
Tracheophytes are also called as vascular plants. The vascular plants exist in three clades, namely, lycophytes, seed plants, and pterophytes. Tracheophytes first appeared 40 million years after land plants first began diverging.
The origins of leaves:
Lycophytes have single vascular strands supporting relatively small leaves called lycophylls. The true leaves are called euphylls, and they are present only in seed plants and ferns having distinct origins from lycophylls. The true leaves are originated about 400 million years ago than the origin of tracheophytes.
