Person M.S. is an 85-year-old retired engineer who is in a confused state. His daughter admits the person M.S. in the emergency department. His blood pressure is 90/62 mm Hg, heart rate is 114 beats/min, and the skin is dry. His daughter reported that he seems much weaker, and he is not able to answer the questions clearly. His daughter also reports that person M.S. has lost his appetite and does not eat much food and intake much of fluid. The nurse starts intravenous infusion (IV) for the patient of sodium chloride 0.9% at 100 mL through gravity drip infusion.
