Concept introduction:
The adrenal glands are pyramid-shaped organs on top of the kidney. The two segments are the inner adrenal medulla, which is more like more like nervous tissue than a gland, is a part of nervous system. The outer adrenal cortex, encapsulating the medullary region and forms the bulk of the gland.
