Introduction:
Cholesterol is a type of derived lipid. This is obtained from simple and conjugated lipids. One of the main functions of cholesterol is the synthesis of cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). Cholesterol is also associated with the synthesis of certain hormones (androgens).
