Chapter 27, Problem 2SQ
Summary Introduction
Concept introduction: All the tissues that are neither dermal nor vascular is included in the ground tissue of plants. Based on the nature of cell walls, they are divided into three types of cells, namely parenchyma, collenchyma and sclerenchyma. Parenchyma cells have thin primary walls and they will stay alive once they become mature. Collenchyma cells have thin primary walls amid a few areas of thickening. Sclerenchyma cells comprise thick lignified secondary walls and they will die after they mature.
