Introduction:

Influenza virus belongs to class V $(-)\text{ssRNA}$ as their genetic material. They are enveloped virus that contains an antigen on their envelope. Influenza virus is the causative agent of flu. They have the ability to change their surface antigens by forming a new combination of antigen (mixture of antigen) through the process of antigenic shift. They also mutate their antigen genes to form new surface antigen. This process is known as antigenic drift.
