Summary Introduction

To answer:

The use of biosensors for water quality testing and also determine whether biosensor detect the presence of microorganisms in water more accurately than an ONPG or MUG test and is such specificity truly necessary.

Introduction:

Water quality testing technique is used to detect the presence of indicator organism like Escherichia coli and other coliform or pathogenic bacteria in water. The presence of E. coli in water indicates the presence of other pathogenic strain. There are several methods to detect the presence of coliform in water. These methods are membrane filtration, ONPG test, biosensor, and MUG test.
