Chapter 24, Problem 4E
Summary Introduction
To calculate: The contour length of a segment of A-DNA that encodes a 50kDA protein.
Concept introduction: A section of DNA that usually codes for a protein is called the gene. The length of the DNA is calculated for different studies related to a particular gene, such as to differentiate between the coding and non-coding region. X-ray crystallographic studies have revealed some forms of DNA that have variation from the ideal B-DNA. A-DNA is one form of DNA found in dehydrated samples of DNA with 75% relative humidity.
