Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The procedures − sucrose-gradient centrifugation and equilibrium density-gradient centrifugation with respect to the physical bases on which molecular species are separated in each method should be explained. The kinds of isotopic compounds used in the analysis and the biological process that can be analyzed with each process should be explained.

Concept introduction:

Centrifugation is defined as the technique used for the analysis and separating of macro-molecules of cellular components.

There are two types of density-gradient centrifugation.

• Sucrose-gradient centrifugation
• Equilibrium density-gradient centrifugation
