Summary Introduction

To construct:

A table representing different stages of meiosis showing the number of chromosomes and DNA molecules per cell for a cell having 4 chromosomes in G1 phase.

Introduction:

Cell cycle refers to the events that take place in a cell that leads to cell division. Cell cycle consists of three phases; interphase, M phase (mitotic phase), and cytokinesis. DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) replication also takes place during cell cycle. Interphase consists of the following three phases; G1 phase (Gap 1), S phase (Synthesis phase), and G2 phase (Gap 2). M phase consists of four phases; prophase (I phase), metaphase (II phase), anaphase (III phase), and telophase (IV phase). Cytokinesis takes place after M phase and division of cytoplasm and its constituents takes place in this process.
