The consequences of chest wall puncture by a broken rib, on the functioning of left lung.

Concept introduction:

The ribcage is the bony structures that protect the organs present within the thoracic cavity. The lungs are protected by ribs and its fracture sometimes punctures the lungs. The rib cage does not only provide protection to the lungs instead it also helps in respiration by changing the volume of the lungs.
