Chapter 22.4, Problem 17WDYL
Summary Introduction
To identify:
The site on which the lymphocyte typically encounter an antigen for the first time: primary lymphatic structure, secondary lymphatic structure, or site of infection.
Concept introduction:
The lymphocytes are present in lymphatic systems in the form of small leucocytes with a single round form of a nucleus. The formation and maturation of lymphocytes occur within the primary lymphatic structures which are thymus and bone marrow.

The basic structural framework of most lymphoid organs consists of (a) areolar connective tissue, (b) hematopoietic tissue, (c) reticular connective tissue, (d) adipose tissue.
Why are lymph nodes often inflamed or swollen when we get sick?
a) Your body is producing more white blood cells to fight the infection, and the increase in cell numbers causes them to swell
b) The foreign invader is accumulating in your lymph nodes causing them to swell.
c) Your body is trying to tell you something is wrong and they swell as an alarm system.
What is the term for a cluster of connected antigen, antibody and complement molecules, and is in circulation?
Is it the lymphatic? Does the lymphatic includes antibodies?
Or is it mucous? But is mucous in circulation?
Or is it blood?
