Chapter 22.3, Problem 4CC
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation: The boiling points for the given set of compounds have to be arranged in the increasing order.

Concept Introduction:

The boiling point of amines increases which depend on the formation of intermolecular hydrogen bonds.  Primary amines form more intermolecular hydrogen bonds than secondary amine followed by tertiary amines.  As a result, primary amines have higher boiling point than secondary and tertiary amines.

ORGANIC CHEMISTRY (LL) W/ACCESS, Chapter 22.3, Problem 4CC

The interaction between highly electronegative atom and hydrogen atom is called hydrogen bonding.  Electronegative atom should have lone pair of electrons to form hydrogen bonding.  It is the process of interaction only i.e., no bond formation is involved.

To find: Arrange the given set of compounds in the increasing order of their boiling points
