To explain: The variation in frequency of ‘p’ allele if white color (pp)
Concept introduction:
Natural selection can explain evolution of adaptive traits in plant and animal populations. Natural selection works to determine the traits by alternative alleles of single gene or multiple genes. It causes change in allele frequencies over time which results in fitness-increasing alleles to become more common over generations in a population. This is known as microevolution. If natural selection favored flowers with white genotype in pea plant, the frequency of the recessive allele will increase with every generation, over a period of time.
