The respiratory muscles and its action, prime movers and synergists of respiration.

Introduction:

The respiratory system is a group of organs from the nose to the alveoli of the lungs that are involved in the process of breathing. In addition to breathing it is also involved in functions such as gas exchange, production of sounds and speech, and sense of smell. Breathing is the repeated inhalation and exhalation process. There are muscles that contribute to breathing process which include diaphragm and intercostal muscles.
