The α-Proteobacteria or Alphaproteobacteria is the most abundant bacteria when compared with all the microbes consisting of twenty families with seven orders. Most of these microbes show aerobic respiration. Some of the α- Proteobacteria are seen to grow in the animal and plant cell, while some species of α- Proteobacteria form symbionts with plant, which are called as Rhizobium that can able to fix nitrogen in the soil.
