Summary Introduction
Cyanobacteria are Gram-positive in nature and they are the only prokaryotes that are able to produce oxygen. These bacteria obtain energy from photosynthesis. These members are also termed as blue, green algae. Most of the Cyanobacteria are obligate photolithotrophs. Cyanobacteria exist in many shapes and in some cases; they form filaments that are called as trichomes.
