Concept introduction:

Unsaturated hydrocarbons are the hydrocarbons that contain carbon-carbon multiple bonds. Alkenes and alkynes are unsaturated hydrocarbons and can undergo addition reaction to give corresponding alkane.

Substitution reaction is the reaction in which given functional group is substituted by another group.

Addition or substitution of halogen atom in a reaction is called halogenation reaction. Similarly addition of hydrogen molecule is known as hydrogenation reaction.
