To explain: The comparison between the carrot cell and muscle cell in relation to their ability to differentiate to various cell types

Concept introduction: Carrot cells are the tiny individual structures present inside the carrot. The carrot cells are totipotent. Totipotency is the capability of a cell to divide in order to give rise to all the differentiated cells of the organisms. Muscle cells are the cells that make up the muscle tissues. Muscle cell differentiation is regulated by a gene called myoD.
