Chapter 20, Problem 5CR
Summary Introduction
To review:
The introduction of human DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) in bacteria.
Introduction:
The genetic engineering of a crop or animal is a technique used for altering the genetic structure by adding desirable traits from another organism. These traits can be of disease resistant or improvement of the overall quality of the crop or the animal. The bacteria play an important role in this technique. One of the best examples of wholesome production of a specific human protein, insulin, and proves the utility of bacteria in the process of genetic engineering.
