An electrocardiogram is used to gives two kinds of information. First, it helps in determining the time of the electrical wave that it takes to pass through the heart. Second, it helps in determining the amount of electrical activity produced by the heart muscle.

The condition of the heart block by examines the electrocardiogram for this disease. Also, the reason for the second P wave in the ECG that is followed by another P instead of a QRS complex is to be determined.
