Explanation In normal cases, the circulating hormones and the autonomic activities make proper adjustments for maintaining the homeostasis of the heart as the cardiovascular system demands changes all the time. This occurs by adjusting the CO (cardiac output). These 2 main factors modify the heart’s autorhythmicity. Any factor, which alters the spontaneous depolarization rate or the repolarization rate in the pacemaker cells, will alter the rate of the heart. When a heart beats, there are 2 types of muscle cells (cardiac) that are involved in the process that are: 1. Contractile cells: It produces contractions, which helps in propelling the blood. 2.
