How is it possible to light several 6V bulbs through a 120V line?
Answer to Problem 3Q
Solution:
Several6 V bulbs can be lighted through 120 V line by connecting the bulb in series connection.
Explanation of Solution
In series, connection current is same throughout the circuit, but the voltage gets distributed.
The total voltage of the whole circuit will be the voltage of battery, but the voltage across the individual element is dependent on the resistance of the element.
So, if we have 20 bulbs of 6V, and we arrange the bulb in series connection than we can light the bulb by 120 V battery.
