Concept Introduction:

In molecular geometry, bond length or bond distance is the average distance between nuclei of two bonded atoms in a molecule. It is a transferable property of a bond between atoms of fixed types, relatively independent of the rest of the molecule.  Generally, single bonds are longer bond length than double and triple bonds.  Double bonds are longer bond length than triple bonds.  Some of the bond lengths are listed below:

C−C single bond length is 1.54Å

C=C double bond length is 1.34Å

C≡C triple bond length is 1.20Å

To find: Rank the indicated bonds in terms of increasing bond length
