Summary Introduction

Introduction:

A blood clot which is formed inside the arteries causes thrombus. The most common type of strokes is caused by an obstruction in an artery due to a blood clot. It is estimated that about 87% of stroke belongs to this category. It is also caused by congested blood vessels due to hardening of the arteries (condition is known as atherosclerosis). About 10% of all types of strokes are hemorrhagic which are caused by bleeding into the brain.
