Introduction:
The stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped to the body parts during one heart beat. Contractility, preload, and afterload are the factors that describe the stroke volume. The extent to which the sarcomeres of the heart’s ventricular cells are stretched is called the preload. The intrinsic ability to pump the blood is determined by the contractility of the heart. The force that must be overcome by the right atrium and ventricles, in order to pump blood in their individual arteries is known as the afterload.
