Introduction:
One culture of E.coli is grown in a medium with high osmolarity, and another culture of E.coli is grown in a medium with low osmolarity to find the genes that are turned on or off in response to changes in osmolarity. RNA-seq analysis was performed for each culture. It was then hypothesized that osmotic changes might induce a general stress response that may be seen with other stressors like heat shock.
