Question
Chapter 16, Problem 14RQ
Summary Introduction
To determine:
In what way the emergence of sympathetic fibers from the spinal cord differs from the emergence of parasympathetic fibers.
Concept introduction:
The sympathetic and parasympathetic fibers are part of the autonomic nervous system. These two fibers have opposing effects on the functioning of each other. One of the differences between these fibers is that the preganglionic fibers of the sympathetic fibers are shorter while the preganglionic fibers of the parasympathetic fibers are longer.
