Required equation: $x+x+8=20$ .

Woody has 6 jobs interviews.

Skip has 14 jobs interviews.

Skip had 8 fewer jobs interview than woody and together they had 20 jobs interview.

Calculation:

Let the number of jobs interview woody have = $x$

According to the first condition:

Skip had number of jobs interview (8 fewer than woody) = $x+8$

According to the second condition:

Total number of job interview = $x+x+8=20$

  $x+x+8=20$

Now, we need to solve it for x .

Add the like terms:

  $\Rightarrow 2x+8=20$

Subtract 8 from both sides of equation

  $\Rightarrow 2x+8-8=20-8$

  $\Rightarrow 2x=12$

Divide by 2 on both sides

  $\Rightarrow \frac{2x}{2}=\frac{12}{2}$

  $\Rightarrow x=6$

Therefore, the number of job interview Woody has 6.

And the Skip has number of job interview= $x+8=6+8=14$ .
