The drug used to destroy the cancer also produced an undesirable condition known as bone marrow depression. The complete blood count (CBC) profile shown here indicates that this patient is in trouble. Review the lab values, and answer the following questions.
- 1. Note that the platelet count is very low. How does this affect the patient? Discuss measures to protect him.
