Data score for each applicant is as under:

Mr. M : 1.12, Mr. O : 1.27, Ms. R : 1.14 and Mr. F : 1.08

Following formula to be used to get the quality data score :

Quality data score $=\frac{\text{Number of positive calls}}{\text{Total number of calls}}+\frac{\text{Actual deals closed}}{\text{Projected number of deals}}$

Calculation:

Based on above formula:

Quality data score of Mr. M $=\frac{160}{240}+\frac{18}{40}=0.666+0.45=1.12$

Quality data score of Mr. O $=\frac{188}{232}+\frac{24}{52}=0.81+0.46=1.27$

Quality data score of Mr. R $=\frac{159}{212}+\frac{31}{79}=0.75+0.39=1.14$

Quality data score of Mr. F $=\frac{162}{238}+\frac{19}{48}=0.68+0.40=1.08$

All above scores are rounded to two decimal places.

Answer to Problem 11PPS

Mr. O should get the promotion.As by calculation it is cleared that his data score is the maximum.

Explanation of Solution

Concept used: Person with greatest quality data score should get the promotion.

By calculation in part (a), the data scores of all the employees are: 1.12, 1.27, 1.14 and 1.08.

Thus, from above calculation, it is cleared that Mr. O`Toole has the greatest quality data score, so he should get the promotion.
