Therefore, the interval (−1,1) is the domain of the function f(x)=1√1−x2 .
Given information: The function is f(x)=1√1−x2 .
Method/Formula used:
Suppose y=f(x) be a function f:A→B , x∈A,y∈B the set A is called the domain of function f and set B the co-domain. Thus, the domain of a function f(x) are the values of x for which the function f(x) is defined.
Calculation:
The given function is f(x)=1√1−x2 .
Since, the function f(x)=1√1−x2 is not defined when 1−x2=0 , i.e., x=±1 and when 1−x2 is negative, i.e., when x2>1 . Thus, the function f(x)=1√1−x2 is defined only in the interval (−1,1) . Therefore, the interval (−1,1) is the domain of the function f(x)=1√1−x2 .
The graph of the function f(x)=1√1−x2 is shown in Fig. (1).
