The light reactions in photosynthesis are the mechanism used for energizing the electrons and synthesize different molecules required by the plant or an autotrophic organism. This reaction, in the evolved species of plants, requires PSI (photosystem I) and PSII (photosystem II). In less evolved species, or those living without oxygen, PSI-like and PSII-like complexes are used for reactions.
