Introduction:

The absorption spectrumrefers to the spectrum of electromagnetic radiation produced when light is passed through a medium or substance. It shows the appearance of dark bands because of the absorption by the substance at a specific wavelength. When white light is passed through a gaseous mediu, mhe absorption spectrum is obtained in the form of certain colors (energies) of light, which is absorbed by the gas, and thus dark black bands appear in the spectrum.
