Introduction:
Meiosis is a second type of cell division, which leads to a reduction in chromosome numbers by half and producing four haploid cells. So, it is also known as reduction division. Cell division occurs twice during meiosis through four stages namely prophase (I), metaphase (II), anaphase (III), and telophase (IV). Prophase I is the first phase of meiosis. In this phase, the homologous chromosomes come together and exchange the DNA.
