How does the tangential velocity of a planet relate to it orbiting around the sun?
![Check Mark](/static/check-mark.png)
The way the tangential velocity of the planet relates to it orbiting around the sun.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
In the solar system, all the planetsrevolve around the Sun. The Sun’s gravity keeps the planets moving in their orbit.
The gravitational force between the Sun and the planet provides the centripetal force which causes the planet to remain in the orbit. The planets do not fall towards the Sun because of their tangential velocity which is in the perpendicular direction to its centripetal acceleration.
