Concept introduction: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited genetic disorder in case of children. It is also known as mucoviscidosis. The primary consequences of the cystic fibrosis are initiated in the lungs and pancreas. A condensed sticky mucus blocks the airway passages. It usually affects several areas of the body. The main organs affected by cystic fibrosis are lungs, pancreas, bile duct, digestive tract, and salivary glands.
