Assume that the two balanced loads in Fig. 12.22(a) are supplied by an 840-V rms 60-Hz line. Load 1 is Y-connected with 30 + j40 Ω per phase, while load 2 is a balanced three-phase motor drawing 48 kW at a power factor of 0.8 lagging. Assuming the abc sequence, calculate: (a) the complex power absorbed by the combined load, (b) the kVAR rating of each of the three capacitors Δ-connected in parallel with the load to raise the power factor to unity, and (c) the current drawn from the supply at unity power factor condition.

- Draw the complete circular stator winding for a three phase delta connected AC generator consisting of 4 poles and 24 slots using a parallel connection. Your submission must consist of two drawings as follows: One drawing must show the winding arrangement of the phasegroups in the slots of the stator highlighting the start and finish of each phasegroup The other drawing must show only the end connections of each phase group for a parallel connection of the phasegroups and a delta connection of the phases The use of AutoCad or any other software is encouraged.arrow_forwardQ15arrow_forwardQ41arrow_forward

Your filter must ensure that at least 90% of the incident signal power is attenuated at f = 60 Hz. Verify the proper operation of your filter by using LTspice XVII to plot the magnitude and phase response of the voltage transfer function H(f). Show LTspice XVII Part if possible. If a current has a negative value, then the reference direction chosen was incorrect and the current is positive in the opposite direction. Your answer can be the negative value – i.e. you find that 12 = -1mA.
