Find the distance between the point J and K on the sphere.

The distance between the point J and K is $5.2cm$ .

Given:

In this, use the concept of circumference of the circle i.e. $C=2\pi r$ .

Calculation:

Here, $r=5cm$ , use the circumference formula,

  $\begin{array}{l}C=2\pi r\\ C=2\pi (5)\\ C=10\pi \\ C=31.41(\pi =3.14)\end{array}$

Now, it is also given that the measure of arc JK is $60$ degrees. So find out in the fraction : $\frac{60}{360}=\frac{1}{6}$ .

Now, it has to find out the $\frac{1}{6}$ of the circumference to get distance: $\frac{1}{6}\times 31.41=5.236\approx 5.2$ .

Conclusion:

The distance is $5.2cm$ .
