To discuss:

The mechanism of presynaptic facilitation and inhibition and how communication occurs between two neurons can be strengthened or weakened by a third neuron employing one of these mechanisms.

Introduction:

The neurons routinely act in clusters to modify each other’s function. The advantage of presynaptic inhibition and facilitation is that they can influence selectively a particular synapse rather than the whole presynaptic neuron. The presynaptic facilitation is the effect of one neuron which is enhancing the effect of another neuron. The presynaptic inhibition is one neuron suppressing the effect of another neuron.
