The steps in the transcription of mRNA.

Introduction:

Transcription is a process, in which formation of mRNA from the DNA takes place. This mRNA encodes amino acids, which forms a functional protein.

Explanation of Solution

The steps of transcription are as follows:

1. Initiation: it is the process of unwinding of DNA molecules and attachment of one strand of DNA to RNA polymerase.
2. Elongation: Movement of the RNA polymerase along the DNA strand and synthesis of new mRNA molecules take place during this phase.
3. Termination is the process of removal of RNA polymerase from the DNA strand and resulting in the discontinuation of mRNA strand synthesis.
