A program administrator at a high school wanted to see if there was a significant association between experiencing verbal
abuse and anxiety in teenage women. She wasn't sure what to expect. Perform the correct statistical procedure to assess the
degree of association between these variables and interpret your findings. Set alpha = .05 for your statistical test. YOU CAN

Passive exposure to environmental tobacco smoke has been associated with growth suppression and
an increased frequency of respiratory tract infections in normal children. Is this association more
pronounced in children with cystic fibrosis? To answer this question, 43 children (18 girls and 25
boys) attending a 2-week summer camp for cystic fibrosis patients were studied (New England Journal
of Medicine, Sept. 20, 1990). Among several variables measured were the child's weight percentile
(y) and the number of cigarettes smoked per day in the child's home (x).

Social functioning is the ability for an individual to interact or adapt in a normal or usual way in social environments. Albert et al. (2007) asked if relatives of patients with OCD are as healthy as those in general healthy populations. They measured the social functioning of relatives using a 36-item survey with scores ranging from 0 (worst possible health) to 100 (best possible health). The mean score for the general healthy population was 77.43. Using the sample data, test whether there was a difference.
Scores: 20, 60, 48, 92, 50, 82, 48, 90, 30, 68, 43, 54, 60, 62, 94, 67, 63, 85

- Evaluate the source for reputability, transparency, andbeing evidential. Scenario: In a study conducted by the Pew Research Center, 681 university students were surveyed. Of those surveyed, 32% reported experiencing food insecurity - and going without food to pay for textbooks and housing instead. Short answer A. The exact question reads "Within the last 30 days, have you gone without food to pay for textbooks or housing instead?": describe the type of data collected by this question as precisely as possible. We want to determine if there is a significant correlation between arm circumference (in centimeters or cm) and body mass index or BMI (in kg.m2) among 10 participants. The results of a correlation and regression analysis are indicated in the Excel output below. The mean arm circumference (the independent variable) was 35.2 cm, and the mean BMI (the dependent variable) was 30.7 kg.m2.
