Chapter 12, Problem 4MC
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Eukaryotes undergo two types of cell divisions; nuclear cell division and cytoplasmic cell division. During nuclear division, nuclei divide during mitosis, meiosis resulting into two and four nuclei. Cell division is observed once the nuclei divide. Mostly nuclear division (karyokinesis) is followed by cell division (cytokinesis). Few of the cells can perform only one type of division. Coenocytes are the cells in which multiple nuclear division takes place without cytokinesis (cytoplasmic division). This results into a cell with many nuclei.
