The following information is available for two samples selected from independent and similarly shaped right-skewed populations:

a. Replace the observed values with the corresponding ranks $\left(\text{where 1 = smallest value; }n=n_1+n_2=11=\text{ largest value}\right)$ in the combined samples.

b. What is the value of the test statistic $T_1?$

c. Compute the value of $T_2$ , the sum of the ranks in the larger sample.

d. To check the accuracy of your rankings, use Equation (12.6) on page 468 to demonstrate

that $T_1+T_2=\frac{n\left(n+1\right)}{2}$
