Concept explainers
Design a circuit that determines whether three or more of four individuals on a committee vote yes on an issue. where each individual uses a switch for the voting.
A threshold gate produces an output y that is either o or 1 given a set of input values for the Boolean variables x1, x2...,xn A threshold gate has a threshold valueT, which is a real number, and weights w1, w2, ..., wn, each of which is a real number. The output y of the threshold gate is 1 if and only if w1x1 + w2x2 +.... + wnxn >= T. The threshold gate with threshold valueTand weights w1, w2, ..., wn is represented by the following diagram. Threshold gates are useful in modelling in neurophysiology and in artificial intelligence.

- K A bass guitarist worked on 14 music projects last year. He wrote and produced 6 projects. He wrote a total of 7 projects. He produced a total of 13 projects. Use a Venn diagram to determine (a) how many projects he wrote but did not produce, and (b) how many projects he produced but did not write. Complete the Venn diagram.
