UPS began to see the decline of the performance of the young drivers when it observed that the new drivers required the time of at least 90 to 180 days to become proficient in driving while earlier it only took 30 days. It was observed that the young drivers were as smart as the other drivers but the techniques used to educate driving to the new drivers were outdated. This attributed to its nearly 30 percent of the workforce and in order to cater to their interest the company opened the training facility named IN.
