rate of forward reaction and the rate of reverse reaction are same. - The equilibrium, where the physical state of reactants and products are same state is called
homogeneous equilibrium . - The equilibrium, where the state of reactants and products are different is called
heterogeneous equilibrium . - In the heterogeneous equilibrium, the value of equilibrium constant does not depend on the amounts of pure solids or liquids present.
- The fundamental reason for this behavior is that the concentration of pure solids and liquids cannot change.
